Privacy
What data we collect about you
In short: there are no accounts, the site sets no cookies, it has no ads and it builds no profile of anyone. Below is everything that gets recorded.
When you read the pages
- Each vote, bill, member or party page you open is saved as one view: the kind and number of the page, the language and the time. It gets a random code that does not lead to you and does not connect two views. This is how we see which pages are read most.
- When you search the lists of votes, bills or members, the text you searched is saved without diacritics, in lower case and cut at 120 characters, also with a random code, so we can see what people look for. Do not type personal data into the search box.
- For the “I’m interested” button, the page and a random code are saved.
- We do not save your IP address, browser or device. The services below can see them, each under its own rules.
When you write to us
The feedback form saves what you write (the kind and the message), the address of the page you write from (without anything after a ?), the language and, only if you fill them in, your contact details. No IP address, cookies or browser details are saved.
The contact details stay in the database and are used only to answer you. The message, without the contact details, may also be copied into a private repository on GitHub, where only the person who runs the site reads it.
Dorel AI
If you use Dorel AI, your question and the last messages of the conversation are sent to Mistral AI (a company in France), through their EU endpoint, to write the answer. Do not write personal data in the question.
- We save the text of the question, to see what does not work; it is deleted after 30 days. The answer is not saved.
- To limit the number of questions we save a code worked out from your IP address, which changes every day and is deleted after 2 days. The IP address itself is not saved.
- If you press “Wrong” under an answer, we save the reason, your comment (if you write one), the start of the answer you saw and the question, and may copy them into a private repository on GitHub, where only the person who runs the site reads them. They are deleted from our database after 30 days. “Helpful” only saves that you pressed it.
- In our Mistral account we have switched off the use of questions to improve their models. How long Mistral keeps them is set by their own rules.
What your browser remembers
Three things stay only in your browser and are not sent anywhere:
- that you closed the “Work in progress” message;
- the pages where you pressed “I’m interested”, so the button shows as pressed;
- the time of the last message you sent, so you cannot send two within 20 seconds.
You delete them in your browser’s settings.
Other services that see the visit
- Hosting: the site runs on Vercel and the database on Neon, both in Frankfurt. Like any host, the servers see the IP address of whoever asks for a page and keep technical logs.
- Visit statistics: we use Vercel Web Analytics. It counts the pages seen and where the visit came from (the previous site, the country, the browser and the type of device). It uses no cookies; a visitor is recognised by a code worked out from the request, which is discarded after 24 hours.
- The floating “Buy Me a Coffee” button: on every page a script, a few images and a font are loaded from them, so they see your IP address, your browser and the page you are on. Their page opens only if you press the button; from there their rules and cookies apply. The button in the footer is a plain link: it loads nothing from them until you click.
- We do not use Google Analytics and have no advertising pixels.
Data about members of parliament
The votes, mandates and other data about members of parliament, ministers and other office holders are official public records, taken with a link to the source; see Methodology and coverage. If you found a mistake, tell us.
Questions, corrections, deletion
The site is an independent project, not a public body. You can ask us to show or delete a message you sent: and say which message it is (the date and what it said). Views and searches have nothing that ties them to you, so we cannot find them by person.
